Sketching is not about “being able to draw.” Not at all. It’s about relaxation through movement.
I started drawing in a notebook simply because I couldn’t fall asleep. I took a pen and started drawing a coffee cup that was standing nearby. It turned out crooked. Then I added a chair nearby. Then a window. Then my knee.
Half an hour passed. I didn’t notice how I switched off my brain. Not a single disturbing thought. Only lines.
Now I always have a notebook in my bag. I draw in cafes, on airplanes, in the park. Sometimes people, sometimes objects, sometimes just thoughts.
It works like meditation: you’re not waiting for the result, you’re inside the process. And what’s cool is that sketching doesn’t require preparation.

And that's it.
Even if you just draw a cup, you're already in the moment. I've noticed that since then I've had fewer anxious swings and thoughts like "I need to do more." Sketching is like an internal anchor. It doesn't require perfection. It brings you back to yourself.
And I don't exhibit these drawings. They're not for the world. They're for me.
