Meeting of Trump and Zelensky: a possible step towards peace
On August 18, 2025, Donald Trump met with Volodymyr Zelensky in the White House - against the backdrop of the previously completed "Alaska 2.0" summit with the participation of Putin and Trump. The event marked a significant milestone in international efforts to resolve the conflict.

Highlights of the meeting:
In a cordial atmosphere, the leaders discussed ways to end the war.

Trump showed a map of Ukraine showing Russian-controlled and disputed areas. Zelensky shared up-to-date information from the battlefield, to which Trump responded in a friendly tone: “we can get through this together.”

Seven European leaders subsequently joined the discussion. They discussed possible security concessions, proposals with “NATO-like” guarantees (without membership), and options for territorial compromises, which have raised concerns in Ukraine and Europe.

Trump expressed his readiness to provide “a lot of help” to Ukraine and emphasized the role of the United States in supporting peace, but noted that without a firm peace agreement, a ceasefire is not necessary.

European countries, including the UK, France, and Germany, have actively supported Ukraine and tried to build a position around its sovereignty and security.

August 19 — International Humanitarian Day

This day is a sign of respect for those who remain despite everything. Doctors, volunteers, rescuers, logisticians - they fight the chaos of war, delivering aid, supporting the most vulnerable and preserving humanity where it seems that everything is lost. Humanitarian Day reminds that pointing to peace means supporting those who are helping right now.

Diplomacy is an important tool, although not always fast, but necessary.

And humanitarian aid is the foundation on which peace stood, stands and will stand.

Thank you for reading my blog and I wish everyone a peaceful sky!
