A dog is a man's best friend, isn't it?

Sometimes it seems to me that dogs sense things that even we ourselves don't suspect. I hesitated for a long time to take mine — I helped my neighbors, walked their pets, just to "reboot" a little. And every time I held the leash in my hand, I felt safe. There was someone nearby who didn't demand anything — just walked next to me and quietly accepted my mood.

The most memorable moment happened in late autumn. I was sitting on a bench, I could barely feel my fingers from the cold and was simply tired of everything. And one dog — a complete stranger — came up, sat next to me and leaned his head on my lap. He didn't try to jump, didn't ask for attention. He just sat. It was so sincere that tears appeared on their own. Sometimes, to feel alive, it's enough that someone nearby is simply breathing.

Over time, I realized that dogs seem to know when to play and when to just walk slowly next to you. They rejoice in little things: a stick, a ray of sunshine, a new path in the park. And when you watch this, something inside you moves too - a light, quiet joy appears that does not demand anything.

A dog does not ask how old you are, what mood you are in, or whether you have strength. She just sits next to you, it seems that her only goal is to be with you. And this is amazing magic. No person will allow you to remain silent as calmly as a dog.
At such moments, I especially clearly understand that there are very simple, but real things in life. And one of them is a small warm nose that you feel in your palm when you are having a hard time.
