It often happens to me: I start something new with great enthusiasm, and a month later I realize that my interest has disappeared. Probably, many people are familiar with this - unfinished scarves, purchased paints that never get painted, or a guitar that sits in the corner and gets covered in dust.
I wondered: is it even possible to find a hobby that you won't get bored of?
My first attempt was related to dancing. I went to salsa for several months, and it was like a small holiday. But then everything became routine. I realized: if a hobby depends on a schedule and partners, then at some point it can become difficult to force yourself.
My second hobby is drawing. It would seem that what could be more wonderful? But I discovered that inspiration does not always come. But I realized: you can draw not for the result, but for the process. When you remove expectations, the process itself becomes a meditation.
I tried photography. At first, it felt like I was discovering a new world: catching light, noticing details that I had previously passed by. Over time, I realized that this was already part of my perception of the world. Even if I don’t pick up a camera every day, my eye continues to “take pictures”.
I came to the following conclusion for myself: there is no hobby that you will never get tired of. But you can choose one that does not require constant stress. A hobby should adapt to your mood. Today you dance, tomorrow you draw, in a week you read books about design - and that’s okay.
The main thing is not to try to make a job out of a hobby. Let it remain light, flexible, free. And then it will always return to your life at the right time.
