When I first bought a small pot of aloe, I didn’t even think that I would start a whole love affair with houseplants. Then I just wanted to have at least something green on the windowsill. And now I have a whole company of green neighbors, and each one has its own character.
My pride is a large monstera. It is like the mistress of the room: wide leaves always catch the light and seem to remind me that I need to grow, to reach for more. It seems to me that when you have a monstera in your house, a special confidence appears in the space.
My second favorite is lavender. It has an amazing aroma that cannot be confused with anything. When I come home after a busy day, I just touch its branch, and I immediately feel better. Lavender is my little way to cope with stress.
And the third hero is a small cactus that I call "the guard". It is so stubborn, grows without much care and reminds me that strength is in simplicity.
You know, there is something magical in plants. They teach patience, because they grow slowly. They remind you that care and attention come back a hundredfold: the more you give, the more beautiful they become. And they also make the house cozy. Sometimes I think: if a person knows how to take care of flowers, he knows how to take care of people.
