Do you dream of ordering an espresso so that the barista cries with emotion, and not from your accent? The secret to rapid progress in Italian is not in cramming textbooks, but in immersing yourself in the environment of native speakers. And that's why I went to Italy!
What you need to do first:
👌First, find your "mafioso". But not the one you thought of! Find a language parent - a patient native friend who will speak to you slowly and without fear of mistakes. He will explain the difference between "biscotto" and "ciambella", and you, in return, may teach him how to cook borscht.
👌Secondly, turn your home into a little Italy. Watch Italian TV series (you can start with "Octopus"), listen to podcasts and music. Your goal is to make your brain think and even swear in Italian. Try cooking only according to video recipes in Italian for a week. Even if you end up with porridge instead of risotto, you will definitely remember a couple of culinary terms!
👌And the main life hack: stop being afraid of mistakes! Italians are an emotional and warm people. They will be happy with your attempts, even if you accidentally call yourself a "tomato" ("pomodoro") instead of an "apple" ("mela"). They will correct you, hug you and say "Bravo!"
Speak, listen, gesture! Soon you will not just know the words, but will begin to feel the language. And then that perfect espresso will be the most delicious for you☕️!
