Emotions are more important than words

The first three minutes are a kind of “setting up waves”. At this moment, we read not only appearance, but also the energy of the interlocutor: his smile, look, tone of voice, manner of holding. All this creates an emotional background, which is stronger than any phrases. Sometimes one sincere gaze or a slight smile is enough to feel interest. And sometimes, on the contrary, something in behavior immediately causes tension, even if a person tries to be sweet.

Intuition works faster than logic

Our brain in the first minutes quickly compares gestures, facial expression and intonation with personal experience. Therefore, the impression is formed by lightning speed and then only confirmed or adjusted during communication. You can talk for a long time about books, music or plans for the future, but if at the beginning there was no feeling “I am easy for me nearby”, then it will be more difficult.

Not only appearance

It is a mistake to think that only attractiveness decides everything. At the start of the date, a big role is played by:

- the ability to listen and show attention;
- naturalness in behavior;
- lightness in communication, a sense of tact;
- A warm gesture or a sincere phrase like "I am glad to see you."

These little things form a sense of trust and comfort, and it is always more valued more than the perfect appearance.

Is it possible to change the first impression?

Over time, it, of course, is adjusted: people are able to surprise and open with unexpected faces. But it is the first minutes that give birth to the very spark that decides whether the desire to recognize each other will be deeper.

The first minutes of a date is not a test of ideal and not a reason for playing a mask. On the contrary, the more natural a person behaves at the beginning, the higher the chance that the meeting will grow into something more. As a result, not a fictional image is appreciated, but a feeling of lightness and attraction, which cannot be faked.
