A way to spend a day in the rain
id: 10057255

Rain usually causes two desires: to sleep or to be sad. But one day I decided to check - what if I do not resist this mood, but simply build it into the day?

I woke up in the morning from the sound of drops on the windowsill and thought: “Okay, so today we are playing a new scenario.” The first thing I did was make tea - but not the usual one, but a herbal tea, left “for a special occasion”. I turned on an old jazz playlist and allowed myself to lay out on the table the books that I had long wanted to leaf through, but put off.

And do you know what happened? Instead of a dull day, the rain turned into a decoration. I set up a “home station” for myself: I leafed through a photo album, baked a simple apple pie (which smelled like it was invented specifically for rainy weather), looked out the window and counted how many drops managed to fall before I blinked.

And in the evening, I did a little experiment: I went outside without an umbrella. I walked on wet asphalt, barefoot through puddles in the yard (I won’t admit to anyone that I do this even at my age). And you know, instead of cold and irritation, I felt free. As if the world had specially invented rain so that we would finally slow down and stop rushing.

Now I know: rain doesn’t steal your mood. It just offers a different rhythm. The main thing is to agree.
