THANKSGIVING DAY IN AMERICA
id: 48756
This blog is being prepared to let you know how I feel about Thanksgiving Day and tradition in my family.

Thanksgiving Day is the day set aside for all American families to get together and give thanks for the events of the past year and for the lifetime of the family. It is also a Day in which the men in the family gather in front of the TV and watch 3 American football games. The first one is always in Detroit and this year it was Detroit versus the Minnesota Vikings.

The Second game is in Dallas and this year it was the Dallas Cowboys versus the Los Angeles Chargers.

The third game is in the evening and this year it was the Washington Redskins versus the New York Giants.

As for my duties on this day, I cook the turkey, prepare cornbread for cornbread stuffing, prepare mashed white potatoes and mashed sweet potatoes. I also make the coleslaw and steam carrots. The day before, I baked two pumpkin pies with graham cracker crust. We also have cranberry sauce which I buy at the store. Dinner is usually around 3 pm.

I gave thanks for this year for the ability to still be active in my life. Since I am 71 years of age, every year is good for me. I also gave thanks for all the lovely ladies who have written me on this site. You are all so sweet and so kind to this older gentleman. Thank you.

The only problem I have is that I am unable to travel to your country to see some of you in person. I know it would be very exciting. I am also sad that I cannot reply to any of your messages because I am retired and at the present time do not have funds to purchase credits so I can chat with you.

I do not think you have a Thanksgiving Day in your country, but if you did, what would you prepare for the meal and what would you give thanks for?

It is also the time when Santa Claus comes to town and then we get ready to go Christmas shopping. Black Friday is big here, but I stay out of the stores that day. Too many people and just not ready for Christmas yet.

To all who read this, I want to wish you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND THE HAPPIEST OF NEW YEAR'S.

the kid in Florida.
