And then something completely ridiculous happened. I noticed a group of people releasing lanterns into the sky. One of them, losing control of his lantern, almost hit me right in the chocolate cup. I barely managed to jump out of the way.

"Hey!" I screamed, trying not to spill my drink.
"Oh! Sorry!" everyone around me responded in unison, blushing with embarrassment.

But that was only the beginning. The lantern lazily flew into the sky, and, trying to step aside, I tripped over my own bag and almost fell. People walked by and laughed, and a cat from the street calmly watched everything, as if judging our actions.

At that moment, I realized that New Year's can be both fun and strange. Hot chocolate on the street, random laughter, and awkward situations - all of this creates a real holiday feeling.

I laughed along with everyone else, and even the accidental incident with the flashlight turned into a small story I'll remember for a long time. That's how I spent New Year's: warm air, lights, random laughter, and the surprises that make the holiday truly come alive.
