What's the point of being with someone if you're still doing everything alone, just... in proximity to another person? 🏝️

I think real partnership is interdependence. It's saying "I could probably do this myself, but I'd rather do it with you." It's allowing someone to carry things for you sometimes, and carrying things for them in return. It's the vulnerability of admitting you don't have all the answers and neither do they, but together you might figure it out.

My mother always said that a good life is built by two people who make each other's burdens lighter, not by two people who refuse to share burdens at all. And I believe that. I want to need someone – not in a desperate, unhealthy way, but in the way that makes life richer. More meaningful. 🌸
