I've been learning to cook properly and it's honestly become my favorite thing 🍳

Some people would roll their eyes at this - "why are you practicing to be someone's housewife?" they'd say with that condescending tone. But they're missing the entire point. I'm not learning to cook because I think it's my job as a woman. I'm learning to cook because creating a beautiful meal for people you love is an act of service, and service is how we show love πŸ’•

Proverbs 31 describes the virtuous woman, and she's not passive or helpless - she's incredibly capable! She works with her hands, she manages her household skillfully, she provides food for her family. That's not oppression, that's power! Real, tangible, life-giving power ✨

I'm preparing myself to be a wife and mother not because I'm less than a man, but because that's the calling God placed on my heart. And I want to be excellent at it! I want to create a home where my future husband feels cherished, where our children feel safe, where everyone who enters feels the presence of love and order and peace πŸ™

The world thinks ambition only looks like climbing corporate ladders. But what if my ambition is to be the kind of woman described in Scripture? What if I want to master the art of making a house into a sanctuary?

I'm studying nutrition so I can feed my family well. I'm learning to budget and manage money wisely. I'm practicing hospitality by inviting friends over for dinner. I'm becoming the kind of woman who can handle her household with grace and wisdom 🌹

This doesn't make me weak or backwards. It makes me intentional! I know exactly what I'm building toward, and every skill I learn is another tool in creating the life God designed me for.

My faith tells me that a woman's sphere of influence is the home, but that sphere is powerful beyond measure. We shape the next generation! We create the environment where our husbands can rest and recharge! We set the spiritual tone for our families!

Why do people act like homemaking is somehow less valuable than any other skill? πŸ€”
