A Christmas Carol
id: 48756
This blog is about the movie I watched last night. It was called "A Christmas Carol" and is based on a story written by Charles Dickens. It is about Christmas events of the past, present and future. It always makes me think of my past, present and future Christmases.

I start b thinking of past Christmases when I was a child, teenager, young adult and mature man. I think of how great Christmas was when I was a child. Going out into the woods with father and sister and looking for the perfect Christmas tree. Always took about 3 or 4 hours and was usually the weekend before Christmas. I then think of making out a list to send to Santa Claus. As a child, never helped to put up the Christmas tree or the train platform. Sister and I went to bed early Christmas Eve and when we woke up in the morning, the decorated tree and trains and Christmas Gifts were in the living room. It was so great and we were so excited. Never liked getting clothes, but loved getting all kinds of toys. One thing we always got was a toy called a Slinky. It usually lasted about 2 or 3 days. The other thing we always got was a lump of coal in out stocking. It was just for a joke that is all.

Then I became a teenager and a young adult and Christmas was still exciting, however did not get many toys anymore. Got more interesting things such as clothes which I could always use and more things that were more to my liking as a teenager and young adult.

I then became a matured man who married and had one child. I continued some of our family traditions such a getting dressed in regular clothes and eating breakfast before we could open the presents. I also had a live Christmas tree which my son, wife and me went to a Christmas tree farm and cut it down. It was always fun.

I am now thinking of present Christmas and I now have an artificial tree. Not thrilled with it, but it is what we have here in Florida. I also not travel to my cousin's on Christmas Day. It is the only time of the year that we see each other. Do not buy many presents anymore and it has kind of just become another day in my life. Since I am 71 years of age, this will be my 71st Christmas.

As for the Christmas in the future, I do not know what it will be like. Not sure how many I have left. But I will try to make it is good as I can. Who knows, maybe my son will get married and I will have grandchildren to give Christmas gifts to. Only God knows that.

I want to wish all the ladies, young and more mature who have written me a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR and that your wish for the next year will come true.

Carl Fitting.
