Body language: nonverbal signs that speak louder than words

The first thing you should pay attention to is not the smile, but the direction of the body. Our subconscious always turns us towards someone who is interesting or pleasant to us. If the interlocutor’s feet and body are directed in your direction, even if he is distracted by his phone, there is interest. The opposite signal is “closed” poses: arms crossed on the chest or a leg thrown up, creating a barrier. This doesn't always mean hostility, it's often a sign of internal discomfort or an attempt to ward off the cold, but in the context of a date it's a clear sign that the person needs time to "thaw out."

Gaze and microgestures

The eyes rarely lie. Prolonged eye contact (but not a boring gaze) indicates trust and a desire to get closer. But the hands work even more eloquently. If a person unconsciously touches his neck, straightens his hair or cuffs, these are signs of slight excitement that indicate concern. Another important marker is “mirrority”. If you notice that your partner is repeating your movements (also taking a cup, changing position or tilting his head in the same direction), congratulations: you have caught one wave. This is a biological adjustment mechanism that cannot be specifically imitated.

Each of us has an invisible protective dome - personal space. Closing this distance is the boldest nonverbal move. If the other person leans closer to you during a conversation or closes the distance when you walk next to him, he is testing your reaction. It is important to feel this moment: if you instinctively lean back, it means that trust has not yet been formed. The ability to read such halftones helps to avoid awkwardness and move at a pace that is comfortable for both.

Body language is not a set of rigid rules, but rather the musical background of your communication. By learning to notice these quiet signals, you will begin to see the real picture of the relationship hidden behind polite words. In March, when everything around you comes to life, let your intuition become your main navigator, because the body feels the truth much faster than the mind has time to realize it.
