Today I cooked dinner slowly, unhurriedly... turned on some music, opened the window to let in some fresh air. I chopped vegetables, as if I had a whole evening ahead of me, not just dinner.
And at some point I caught myself thinking—I like the very process of waiting.
When no one has sat down at the table yet, when everything is just beginning...
I added a little cream, a little more spice than usual...
Sometimes I like to experiment. Especially when I imagine I'm cooking for more than just myself 😏
There's something very personal about cooking for someone else.
It's like you open up without words. You reveal your mood, your character... even your mood for the evening.
And you know...
the most delicious moment isn't when you're eating.
It's when you look at the person across from you... and realize they're truly happy.
Sometimes I think true intimacy begins with these simple things 🍷
