On the one hand, the idea of parenthood remains strong. For many, children are the meaning of life, an extension of themselves, a source of emotions and responsibilities that shape the individual. People speak of a love that is incomparable to anything else, and of the importance of family as the foundation of stability and support. In some cultures and countries, the pressure still persists: "life is incomplete without children."
On the other hand, more and more people are consciously choosing a life without children. The reasons vary: a desire for freedom, financial burdens, careers, an unstable world, the environment, and psychological preparedness. Modern people often want more time for themselves, travel, self-development, and independence. And this is no longer perceived as "selfishness," as it once was.
If we talk about "fashion," there is no single trend today. There are two parallel tendencies. The first is traditional, where family and children remain the central value. The second is more modern, where a conscious decision to abandon parenthood is becoming normalized. This is especially noticeable in large cities and among young people.
Interestingly, society is gradually ceasing to impose a single, correct path. The idea is increasingly being heard: it doesn't matter whether you have children or not; what matters is that it's a conscious choice, not external pressure.
As a result, the modern world gives people something they didn't have before - the right to choose. And perhaps this is precisely the main trend of our time: not "the right way," but "what's right for you."
