If men who women loved taught their girlfriends how to drive more often, how different would the roads be?

It's about confidence. About calm. About the way a person gets behind the wheel if there was someone nearby who didn't yell, didn't get nervous, didn't snatch the wheel from their hands, but simply said, "Look, you can do it."

I think many things in life are based on this very thing—on someone's calm presence while you're learning.

And for some reason, I feel like if there was more of this patience and shared learning in relationships, there would be less chaos on the roads. More confidence. More fluidity. Less fear of making mistakes.

I'm smiling as I write this, because it sounds a little naive... but there's something real about it for me.

I guess I'm just lonely right now, and that's why I think so much about how people could be kinder to each other. Sometimes it's so little—just letting someone else grow bolder around you.

I don't know if this observation is accurate. But for some reason, it stays with me.
