The farm taught me to wake up early, not to be afraid of hard work, and to understand that everything has its time. You can't force a crop to grow faster. You can't explain to a cow that you're tired today. There, you quickly understand that nature doesn't like haste, but always rewards patience.
Perhaps that's why I value simple people. Those who keep their word, care, and don't play with others' emotions. On the farm, you quickly realize that the present is always more valuable than a pretty picture.
Sometimes I really miss that feeling of looking out over an endless field in the evening and realizing that today wasn't a wasted day.
