1953. Cannes Film Festival. 18-year-old, still little-known actress Brigitte Bardot appears on the beach in front of the Carlton Hotel. She's wearing a pink skirt, top, and... yes, that very bikini. The photographers went wild.

Three years later, the film "And God Created Woman" was released, where Bardot finally legitimized this style. Millions of girls around the world looked at Brigitte and wanted one too.

2. Agent 007 and a wet white bikini

1962, the first James Bond film – the Bond girl emerges from the sea in a white bikini – this shot became instantly iconic. This bikini didn't just sell – it flew off the shelves. Incidentally, years later, this very swimsuit was sold at auction for an incredible $60,000!

By the mid-1960s, the bikini had finally overcome stereotypes. There were even popular songs about girls in beautiful swimsuits.
