I look at the people around me—and it seems like they're already living the very life i once envisioned for myself.

Some calmly choose a job they enjoy, not "where the pay is."

Some have relationships where they don't have to prove their worth every day.

Some just... take their time and don't apologize for living at their own pace.

And I seem stuck at the "just a little bit more and I'll start" stage.

I keep putting it off. I'm afraid to take a step because it might not work out. I'm afraid that if I choose myself right now, everything will fall apart.

I'm not angry at them. Really. I'm even glad that some people are succeeding.

It's just that there's a quiet ache inside: when will it be my turn?

Maybe it's not that I'm "not succeeding."

It's that I'm still waiting for permission. From someone. Or from myself.

I want to wake up one day and realize that I'm no longer comparing.
That I'm simply living. My own life. Not someone else's.

For now... I'll just be honest: sometimes it's really painful to watch others already be where I still dream of being.
