When there's no one to share even silence with in the evening. When you want to share your joy with someone, but there's emptiness all around. When, in illness, in weakness, in the ordinary human "I'm scared" moment—you're alone with yourself.
No one deserves this.
Even God didn't create us alone. "It is not good for man to be alone"—these words have been echoed for thousands of years, and science today only confirms what was written at the very beginning.
Research shows that only about 1.4% of single people feel truly, deeply happy in their status—on par with the most satisfied couples. Another 20–30% are relatively content and aren't looking for a relationship. The rest—the majority—either suffer or live with a muted dissatisfaction. Long-term, forced solitude consistently reduces life satisfaction, increases feelings of loneliness, and even depressive symptoms.
That is, those who are genuinely happy in complete solitude are rare. A true rarity.
We were created for a partner. Not for a perpetual "me alone," but for "we." To have someone to hold our hand. Someone to say "I'm home" to. Someone to be needed not out of emptiness, but out of fullness.
And let some people consciously choose solitude—that's their right.
But for most of us, loneliness still hurts. And that's okay. Because we weren't created for this.
