The little things that are close to my heart
id: 10057900
I sometimes wonder if hobbies choose us before we ever choose them. Maybe that's why I always end up collecting little pieces of the world. Pressed flowers tucked inside forgotten books. Train tickets that still carry the scent of adventure. Songs that remind me of rainy afternoons. Photographs of skies that looked like someone had painted their dreams across the horizon.

None of them are expensive. Yet somehow, they all feel priceless. People often ask why I spend so much time doing things that don't connect with them. Reading stories I'll never live. Painting sunsets that disappear before the colors dry. Learning melodies that only the walls of my room ever hear. Going to the gym. I never know how to explain it. Some hobbies aren't meant to produce something. They're meant to protect something.

A gentle heart. A hopeful imagination. The quiet parts of us that the world asks us to grow out of. Every book I finish leaves behind a new version of me. Every flower I stop to admire reminds me that beauty never hurries. Every walk beneath an open sky feels like another page in a story I haven't reached the ending of yet. Maybe that's why I've always believed love begins long before another person arrives. It begins the moment you learn to notice. The way morning light slips through the curtains. The comfort of a warm cup of coffee on a difficult day. The peace hidden inside an afternoon with no plans at all.

My hobbies don't simply fill empty hours. They teach my heart how to stay soft in a world that celebrates being busy. How to remain curious. How to find magic in ordinary places. And perhaps, one day, someone will wander into this little world I've been carefully creating. Not to complete it. But to pause beside me while I press another flower between the pages of a book......and quietly agree that some of life's greatest treasures are the ones nobody else notices.
