Mine: I can go to the supermarket for milk and walk out with four bags of groceries, a candle, a houseplant, and, for some reason, a new towel.

No milk.

But the towel is beautiful.

I recently started thinking: why do we rarely talk about such things?

I would have been much more interested in reading:

"I can cook perfect scrambled eggs, but I always forget to turn off the kettle."

Or:

"I know almost all the songs from old Soviet films by heart."

Or:

"I can distinguish most dog breeds, but I have absolutely no idea how banks work."

Now that's a real person!

I think life becomes much more interesting when something unexpected pops up.

"The plan was good. But let's do it differently."
