Can I be honest? Money is not a myth. I won't pretend I don't care about tickets to a great concert or dinner at a place other than a pub where everyone is singing. Of course, it's nice when a man can afford not to mentally calculate everything before every order.

But...

What do I really miss?

Here's my real list:

When he texts, "Are you home?" just out of concern.

When he remembers that I order a latte with two pumps of syrup.

When he suggests going for a walk, even though he doesn't plan to go anywhere.

When he says, "Everything's fallen apart for me today, but I wanted to hear your voice."

When he calls in the car because he was thinking about something and immediately thought of me.

That's expensive.

Truth be told, it's much more valuable than the income listed in the "salary" column.

But do you know what's definitely worthless?

A lot of money in your pocket and a complete emptiness in your heart.

A man who can feed a woman in a three-star restaurant but can't listen to her day. Who gives gold but never time.

Such "investments" are ruinous quickly.

Wait.

Maybe you just haven't met the right woman yet.

Who's looking not for a number on a document, but for the man who's right next to her.

It seems she's sitting here somewhere, hoping for the same thing.
