Male friendship after 40: myth or cult?
id: 10050374
I’ve been observing men for years, and I see two scenarios: either friends exist solely for fishing, beer, and idle chatter, or, there’s simply no one at all. Not a single person you can turn to and say, I’m hurting. Why do you so rarely say this to each other? Is admitting to weakness really more terrifying than facing it all alone?

And here is my uncomfortable question. I get jealous. Yes, jealous of your friends of the time, the jokes, and the silences I’m not allowed to share in. And I feel ashamed of that jealousy.

So tell me straight: if your girlfriend issued an ultimatum, it’s either me or your friends, what would you choose, and why? And be honest: are you truly making a choice, or are you simply afraid of being alone?
