The simple magic of a cozy evening and why we all need a break 🕯✨🌿

For a long time, I had a terrible, bad habit that many people have probably encountered: getting into bed, opening my phone, and for an hour, or even two, getting lost in an endless feed of news, social media, and short videos. You sit there, scrolling, watching someone else's life, and time flies inexorably. As a result, my head becomes a complete jumble of information, my eyes start to ache terribly, and normal, healthy sleep doesn't come until the morning 💆‍♀️ At some point, I woke up completely exhausted and decided I needed to do something about it immediately, because my body simply refused to function at such a frantic pace.

Now I have my own, very warm evening ritual. Exactly an hour before bed, I make a conscious decision to put my phone away on the dresser, setting it to silent. I turn on some soft, calm music, background jazz, or just the sound of rain outside the window 🌧 I pour myself a large cup of hot herbal tea with thyme and mint, light my favorite vanilla-cinnamon candle, and just sit in the semi-darkness. Sometimes I write down a few nagging thoughts in a notebook, do some light stretching right on the mat to relieve tension in my shoulders and back after a long day at the computer, or simply sit with my eyes closed 🌿

It's amazing, but my body and nervous system respond to this kind of attention instantly! My head quickly clears of the daily hustle and bustle, the endless anxious thoughts stop racing, and I fall asleep in literally ten minutes 💤 It's such a simple, accessible to absolutely everyone, yet incredibly pleasant way to take care of myself and my mental health. A small, quiet pause at the end of a busy day that gives me an incredible taste of life and restores deep inner peace ☕️💛
