Honestly, and without sugarcoating it, my ideal evening is one where something is simmering on the stove, the scent of spices is drifting through the apartment, an old movie is playing in the background, and I’m curled up in an armchair with a blanket, knitting or reading. You have to admit, that sounds a lot better than waiting in line at a bar and shouting over the music.
But there is one condition. You have to know how to be silent with me. Not in an oppressive silence where every breath feels like a reproach, but in a comfortable one. A silence where you can simply be together without needing to fill the pauses with chatter. That’s a rare skill, and I value it highly.
Unfortunately, I see more and more couples filling the silence not with conversation, but with the noise of screens... Have people forgotten how to talk? Have they forgotten how to listen to the silence?
I’m curious, how do you spend your evenings, gentlemen?
