I got home from the store and suddenly realized my wallet was missing.
At first, I calmly checked my bag. Then I checked it again. Then I emptied out absolutely everything—including things that seemed to have nothing to do with my life at all. Still no wallet.
Then came phase two of the investigation: pockets.
Then the car. Then the kitchen.
Then the entryway. At one point, I was mentally retracing my entire route, trying to figure out exactly where I might have lost it.
My mood shifted gradually from "it'll turn up any minute" to "that's it, my life is over." 😄
I even started suspecting that someone might have swiped it. I was already picturing some mysterious villain counting my money somewhere and gloating over their incredible score.
But then I decided to take one more look around the house.
And I found the wallet.
In the fridge. 🤦♀️😂
I still have no idea how it got there. I guess that day, my brain decided that money should also be kept in a cool place.
The funniest part is, I realized something after that: sometimes we take our own mistakes too seriously. But really, you can just laugh at yourself, have a coffee, and get on with your day.
And that’s probably why I love people with a good sense of humor. If someone knows how to laugh at themselves, it’s so much easier to get through life’s adventures together. ☕️😄
