In these days of high technology, internet and Social Media, many friendships are formed over long distances. The key to successful friendships is that you "come clean" from the inception. You have to be clear and honest with each other. The internet is filled with scams and many other crooked dealings, but if you're being true and honest with each other, then great friendships are formed.

A distance friendship or relationship is dependent on communication. The friendship or relationship is like a plant that needs to be nourished. Communication is the "water" that will nourish the plant (relationship), so you have to communicate endlessly until you are fortunate enough to meet in reality. You see, you are not close to each other and any lack of communication might be construed as lack of attention or lack of interest. So, the more you communicate, is the stronger the friendship or relationship will become.

If I'm interested in you, the stronger my interest will become if you are responding to me and, likewise, in your case. You see, entering into a long distance relationship is like entering into the unknown, you know nothing about each other, other than seeing pictures. So you have to go through the process of getting to know each other, there's the introduction and then you continue into building the relationship. You can sometimes have a "feel" of the other person by the way he/she writes, whether they are respectful and really intend to know you or whether they are just being frivolous or "fooling around." For example, if a guy keeps requesting to see your nude body, cut him off immediately, he's just "fooling around."

You know, if this world was a different place, full of love and respect for each other, all the calamities that befall us on a daily basis, would never happen. This is a different world, so we have to proceed with caution and make wise choices. Long distance relationships can work, once it is done wisely. The internet is a wonderful invention. Gone are the days when we chose our spouses from within our own villages and neighborhoods, now we're having the whole world from which to choose.
