It's Monday morning, the phone is still silent, the alarm has just gone off, and I have those sacred five minutes of absolute silence, when the world doesn't yet demand any decisions from you. The first and most important thing is to brew coffee in a small Turkish coffee pot. No social media, no news feeds, no chats while the water heats up and the beans release their rich aroma.
I love this process to the point of giving me goosebumps: when the dark foam begins to slowly rise to the brim, you have to seize that moment and remove the cezve from the stove in time, otherwise the entire flavor and pleasure will be hopelessly ruined. I pour the drink into my favorite mug. The one with the small crack on the handle, the one I can't bring myself to throw away because it's my own ☕️. I take it in both hands, feel the pleasant warmth, take my first slow sip, and the chaos outside the window gradually begins to gather into a normal, manageable picture.
All that endless outside noise, the morning traffic jams, and the bustle can wait behind the closed kitchen door. Until there's a thick, dark sediment at the bottom of the cup, it's best to leave me alone. This is my personal, sacred mini-survival ritual, which charges my internal battery for the entire day ahead 😌.
