Texting first isn't desperate, it's confident!
id: 10045256

Let's kill this myth right now. Texting first does not mean you are desperate. It means you are interested and secure enough to show it.

Think about it. What is actually desperate? Waiting by your phone hoping they message. Pretending you do not care when you do. Playing games so you do not look too eager. That is desperate. That is fear wearing a cool outfit.

Texting first is none of that.

Texting first says I thought of you. It says I am not afraid to show that I like you. It says my ego is not so fragile that I cannot send a simple hello.

Here is what people get wrong. They think the person who texts first has less power. Wrong. The person who texts first is the one brave enough to move things forward. That is not weakness. That is confidence.

And if they do not reply? That is information. Not rejection of your worth. Just information. Maybe they are busy. Maybe they are not interested. Either way, you found out faster than if you had sat there waiting and wondering.

The right person will not think less of you for reaching out. They will be glad you did. They will see it as warmth, not desperation.

So stop overthinking it. Stop waiting for them to go first. Stop letting fear dress up as strategy.

If you want to talk to someone, talk to them. That is it. That is the whole thing.
