"Parable of the RICHERS AND THE POOR"
id: 10036348
Hello, my dear readers! Today I read one very interesting parable and decided to share it with you. It is called "Parable of the RICHERS AND THE POOR"
The rich father wanted to show his son how poor people live, and instead he learnt a lesson.
Once a very rich man took his son on a trip around the country with the only purpose of showing the boy what it means to live without money.
They spent several days on a farm in a very poor family. When they returned home, father asked the boy if he liked the trip.
"I liked it, father," the boy answered.
"Did you see the way poor people live?" - Asked the father.
"Oh, yes!" Was the answer.
"And what did you realize from our trip?" - Father asked again.
And the son replied: "I saw that we have one dog, and they have four. We have a swimming pool in the middle of the garden, and they have a stream that does not have an end. Overseas lanterns shine in our garden, and stars shine at night in their garden. We have a terrace to the front yard, and they have spaces to the horizon. We have a small piece of land on which we live, and they have endless fields that can not be looked at. We buy food, and they grow it themselves. We have walls around the house for protection, and they have friends."
The boy's father froze with numbness. And then the son added:
"I realized how poor we really are."
We too often forget about what we have, and focus on what we do not have. Sometimes the child's opinion reminds us of what is really important in this life.
I hope that this parable was useful and interesting for you.
I wish you all to have a good day.
