❓❓ if you don’t trust anyone here, why are you still here? 🤔

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on something that, honestly, I find hard to understand.

I come across men here who say they don’t trust women on dating sites. Some have been burned before, others have had unpleasant experiences, and some are firmly convinced that every woman has an ulterior motive. They question every word, doubt every sentiment, and sometimes even view the simplest gesture of interest as if they’re expecting a trap.

And yet… they stay. Day after day, week after week, sometimes even year after year.

And I keep asking myself: why?

If you believe that no one here is being sincere, why keep looking? If you go in expecting every woman to disappoint you, how can you possibly give a new relationship a fair chance? And if you’ve already decided that people can’t be trusted, what could a woman possibly do to convince you otherwise?

I understand that trust isn’t something you can just "switch on" at a moment’s notice. Perhaps someone once broke your heart, lied to you, or made you regret having opened up. I would never suggest that a man should simply forget his past or ignore the lessons he’s learned from it.

Sometimes it seems to me that some men have become so accustomed to expecting disappointment that they feel safer being suspicious than they would by holding onto hope. Of course, suspicion can shield you from certain risks but it can also cause you to miss out on something beautiful before it even has a chance to begin. None of us can guarantee that the next person we meet will be "the one." That’s just human nature.

If you no longer trust the women you meet here, what keeps you coming back? Are you still hoping to find that one special person or has your past experience made you doubt that such a person could even exist? I’d really like to understand your perspective. Because, to my mind, the greatest mystery isn’t whether we’ll manage to find someone we can trust… but whether we’ll still be capable of recognizing that person when they finally appear.
