Today, March 8, is a very special day in Ukraine and in other nations as well. It is Ukraine's celebration of all women, and it is a national holiday. Many women receive gifts on this day. Others go to a nice restaurant, or the cinema, or the theater. And yes, many remain at home with their families. The gifts the women receive are given to them by their husbands, fiances, boyfriends, fathers, brothers, sisters, and mothers. And some women receive gifts of flowers or money from the companies they work for, as a way of telling them how valuable they are to their employers. I believe that even the government congratulates women on this special day.

Not all women receive gifts on March 8. Often that is caused by a lack of money. Still, on this day, this greeting is being sent to every woman on this site by way of the "BLOG UPDATES." I hope you all have a GREAT AND WONDERFUL DAY, and that you know how very much you are all loved!

"Women's Day" is not generally celebrated in my country. Instead, we celebrate "Mothers' Day," which is observed during the month of May. We also have a day set
aside for acknowledging men. It is designated as "Fathers' Day," and is celebrated in June. Both Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day are observed on Sundays, so the work week will not be disrupted! But both days are filled with joy!

I also wish to add my own congratulations to all the others, for all the women on this site, and in my extended family! May you all enjoy a day filled with congratulations and gifts, but make sure that you show your appreciation to those who do something nice for you this day!
