John is spot on here, with one exception: why can't the men learn the girl's language as well?

I have been studying Ukrainian for a year. I have an on line teacher in Kiev. We Skype every Sunday. In addition to language, she teaches me culture.

I think that this demonstrates your level of seriousness. The language is hard, but it is fun. I spend $7 per lesson. Prices can vary, depending on who you choose.

I will travel to Kharkiv in October. I will be able to have small conversations with my lady friend. In the meantime, she sends me questions to translate. I think this deepens the relationship.
