Admittedly, I have been on this site for some time and have had mixed feelings. I have been scammed and lied to and have also had conversations with some great ladies but nothing came of it. I know there must be some serious and sincere men and women on this site but finding one where there is mutual attraction, reasonable age difference (come on girls, 19 or 20 is just too young to write a 60 year old man), and other factors that I believe are necessary for a long term relationship, is like finding the proverbial needle in the haystack.

After seeing hundreds of profiles, I would like to make some observations. This is just my opinion and does not necessarily reflect others on this site but I welcome all feedback and debate. First, most of us including myself have all been hurt, have a past, or are in some way broken and that is why we are seeking true love and doing something different.

Ladies, it is not baggage if you have a little one and if someone thinks that's a problem, move on to someone who will accept you and your past. Divorce is a plague and a plight of this world and I have been 4 times now. Yes, it is even shocking to me as I look back on my life. Some may come to the conclusion that I could not commit to a relationship but the truth is, because of my upbringing, I was afraid to be alone and made mistakes and was also not mature enough to handle the responsibility of marriage. Now I have been divorced since 1995 and that cycle has thank God, been broken.

I think because of those failed relationships, I am very careful and picky about a future mate and hope to find someone that is ideal for me and accepts my past and only looks to the present and future. Ladies, most of us will accept your broken past and things you bring in to a relationship such as divorce or children just as we hope you will accept us.

I realize I may scare away a potential match with my confession but that is the chance I take and I am not that lonely needy person that made those past mistakes.
