Love vs time
id: 895906

If there's something I've learned in my time on dating sites, it's that the longer you spend on them, the less chance you have of finding love. Love and time are opposites working against each other. Love is something you can't measure. It's unlimited in amount, makes us stronger when we share it, gives memories meaning, and constantly grows as we do. Time however, is measured, limited and nobody knows how much we start with or when it will end. It fades memories, feeds doubt, weakens, and reduces constantly until it's gone. You can stop time with a kiss, make a few hours together feel like days...a few days together feel like years. If you sit on a dating site however with no urgency to truly share it...it will fracture and disappear. I've watched a dog that's known nothing but abuse and hatred, that growled and snapped at everyone it saw, crawl into the lap of a person who sat down next to it and gave it water and something to eat. When that dog realized what love was, it moved towards it, opened itself up to it and changed how it reacted to the world because of it. When love is so precious and powerful, why do we waste so much of it finding reasons not to love someone in taking our time, when we could be sharing it and growing stronger from it? There will always be those who just want to hurt us...don't let them win...just be smarter about those you give your love to.
