Re: modern woman and a job
id: 201915

My thoughts, first of all, my purpose here is find my wife, who would be my 'half' as you say. Toward that purpose, a man must be able to support his wife and family, or this is a wasted trial and a shameful one at best. I can do this easily, but any one needs more than 1 point of interest, no matter how strong that 1 point is, hence a job, which can help the family we create. Of course, this being a world of similar peoples, America has jobs similar to Ukraine. I say 'similar' to Ukraine because there are certain differences, but highly important ones, such as language. You could probably run a sales point here at a cash register quite easily, but to transfer your training as a doctor from there to here, No. You can be a doctor there, but only a nurse here, depending on education and credentials. Language is the most important consideration in any endeavor. English is easy, I think, and Russian hard to me. I cannot learn Russian from a book. I have to hear and denote all the sounds and inflections as well. We don't roll our 'R's', just a point in case and we have no sounds with numerous consonants following consonants. We depend on our vowels very much, and grammar is so important for business letters. So, for a secretary, this is imperative. You can run your own business in many genres provided you can make yourself understood. I have friends here working in the hospital as nurses, dietitians, food service, housekeeping, clerks, etc all from Ukraine and wonderful ladies all. Don't ask, they're all already married(. But you understand my point that language is most important for most jobs, less important for the menial jobs such as home cleaning, office cleaning, and some forms of maintenance. However, the internet, being what it is, can provide you with many other choices where you may even be able to work your own job in Ukraine as a 'work from home' or satellite position. Maybe you can teach from the internet online. After my divorce, I had to get the hell out of America to avoid doing anything rash here). I went to China immediately and taught English in a major University without knowledge of any Chinese language, so I know things can be done for you. There are always possibilities, Ladies, and as my dear Granny said, "Anything honest is honorable!' if you're trying to put food on the table. Research is a great ally also, again use the internet, but a warning, pay less attention to forums than anything else here. There's so much junk in these forums, it's ridiculous! You might can do online work in translations with 2 or more translator programs, just so you can check your own translations out. We do have a world of possibilities, but your husband will probably be your very best source and your greatest, most loving, most honest and most protective help, of course. So never give up hope in anything!!! I cannot stress that enough. Persistence will win out. I sincerely hope this will help to give you ideas and if possible, to ease your dear minds and hearts. My heart goes out to all Ukrainian ladies, whom, to me, are the most beautiful Angels in this or any Universe. I sincerely wish you all the very best of Luck, even though I think you can make most of your own luck))) With Love to you all, Ray!
