Hello to all! As you know, I am from a very beautiful country Ukraine. Our native language is Ukrainian language. Did you know that the Ukrainian language is considered to be one of the most beautiful languages in the world, after French and Italian languages? It is very melodic and easy on the ear. The language even has its own holiday – November 9, which is “The Day of Ukrainian writing and language” in Ukraine. So I wanted to share with you some interesting facts about Ukrainian language: 1. According to the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the modern Ukrainian language contains approximately 256 thousand words. 2. Ukrainian alphabet consists of 33 letters. The language has 38 sounds, 6 vowels and 32 consonants. 3. There are many synonyms in the Ukrainian language. For example, the word "skyline" has 12 synonyms! 4. The modern Ukrainian language has three dialects: northern, southwestern and southeastern. 5. About forty million people speak Ukrainian as their native language.
