They say that the path to man's heart lies through his stomach. I am sure that at the first date Ukrainian girl will try to impress you and show her best in cooking most popular Ukrainian traditional dish - borscht! Or at least will invite you to try real borscht at restaraunt. I will share with you my special recipe which women in my family get from grannies. If you try to prepare borscht by yourself - you will make first step in getting acquainted with Ukraine. And maybe it will be you who surprise your Ukrainian girl with this dish;) Here the list of products you will need: Meat(I take veal, you can take chicken and prok either), cabbage, potato, carrot, onion, beet, tomato sauce, beans. The first step is to boil the broth, if you choose veal - it will take 2 hours. Don't forget to change water after it will boil first time. After 2 hours, cut boiled veal, chop potatoes, add to broth. While it boiling, cut carrot and onion very small, fry it in the pan on the oil then add to broth. Cut beet very small as well, fry it few minutes with tomato sauce and put it to broth. In the end put to the broth shred cabbage and canned beans. Let your borsh brew 15 minutes. Voila! Serve it with black bread, green onion, garlic and of course thinly sliced bacon.
