This Sunday we will have a big event) A holiday that is celebrated by all Christians. This is Easter or the Sunday of Christ. Easter is an incredibly important and large-scale religious holiday, whose history goes into the deep past. There are numerous traditions, customs, signs for Easter. The most famous custom that has been familiar to everyone since childhood: to the greeting “Christ is risen!”, One must answer “Truly risen!”. The date of Easter changes every year, but it is always calculated according to one rule: it is Sunday after the first full moon, which came after the day of the vernal equinox. According to biblical writings, it was on this day that Jesus Christ rose from the execution. During the last week of fasting, it was necessary to carefully prepare the house and family before the action. In Ukraine, this week is called Passion, because during it mentions the "Passion" of Christ, the last events before his crucifixion. On Pure Thursday, we recall the Last Supper and the Communion of the Body and Blood of Christ, read 12 passages from the Gospel of the Passion of Christ, the Shroud is made on Friday, and we recall the crucifixion and death of the Savior. Good Friday is the strictest fasting day of the annual cycle of worship; on Friday, believers observe strict fasting. During this day you need to attend a worship service. Saturday is a day of rest, the transition from the Passion of Christ to the Bright Resurrection of Christ. This transition manifests itself even externally: during the morning, clergy change clothes from black fasting robes to white holiday robes. It is noteworthy that each of the elements of the holiday is symbolic: Curd paska should be in the form of a pyramid. This is a symbol of Mount Calvary, on which Christ was crucified. Paska from fancy pastry symbolizes the life of Christ among people. It is believed that Easter is not stale for a long time. Therefore, in antiquity it was not eaten immediately. The tops of the pascha were taken with them for the first spring work in the field and eaten there so that the year was fruitful. The Easter basket still has its own regional characteristics: in addition to Easter cakes, in Central Ukraine, eggshells were put in the basket, and in Galicia they were cleaned. In the Hutsul region, there was a tradition of sanctifying water in which eggs were cooked: it was believed that if a person washes this water, his face will be clean and healthy. In some regions, they consecrated water with a red pysanka, in order to later wash their face in beauty. This is one of my favorite holidays, not counting my birthday)
