I for one on this site have often wondered the many questions that I have read about the women wearing rings on different fingers. I remember some of the points about this from studying some ancient history in college, but I will admit that I forgot a lot of the points brought out by Elena in her very well put together essay about this subject. It did bring back some memories of her points that she presented in her blog, and it really makes a lot of sense. I think it shows how different the cultures are in different countries and this has always interested me and this is one of the reasons for looking for and seeking people from all the different life styles than I am used to. Maybe it was getting boring in my own country, I really can't say, but I do know that most of the wonderful people that I have met from other countries have been very helpful in explaining their different life styles and beliefs. I have to respect their viewpoints and try to understand why they believe the things they do. I look at that aspect as much more important than being critical of them. I do know that in America, it is true that when a woman wears a ring on her left ring finger, she is taken either in marriage or engagement. It is a very important sign of love and devotion to one person and it also means that she is off limits for anything other than friendship. So since we now know that when a woman from Ukraine wears a ring on her left hand ring finger, I don't see that it poses a problem. I will share that also, when I am seeking a soul mate and a future wife, I am most concerned what is in her heart and how she presents her beliefs to me, even if I don't understand them, I will always put myself in the other person's position and it really makes it easier to understand her and become a support to her. Let's face it, we all have to have support of each other, we have to pull in one direction and it starts with something so simple as why they wear rings on their left hand. I say, listen and learn from the girl you are interested in, she is the one you must understand before anything else happens in a relationship and it is a good foundation for love in the highest degree and we have to have that if we are going to be successful in our search.
