What are some lesser-known sights to see when visiting Cherkasy, Ukraine?

Actually, there are not so many sightseeing places in the city, though it is quite old. Just a few buildings of late XIX - early XX century survived the WWII, though they add some “retro”-flavour to a couple of streets. There is a wonderful view of the Dnieper (10 km wide) from the hills, on which the city is located, particularly from the hill of WWII memorial. But the town is surrounded by a lot of beautiful and historically significant places, related to the history of Ukraine, and great names, like Pushkin, Chaikovsky, Shevchenko. The city is generally very green, quiet, cosy and pleasant for a walk with friends on a summer evening. Valley of Roses in Cherkasy situated near the Dnepr is so lovely so full of joy in summer weather, where are children and their parents may have rest and play in fountains…. In the Valley of roses in Cherkasy also often organized festivals… so if you want to see the soul of Cherkasy, you must go to such place….
And of course, there are many other wonderful fountains…. and other sightseeing places….
