Two groups of subjects with high and low self-esteem were shown the same videos, where they were greeted by different actors. Some showed friendliness and genuine sympathy, others neutrality and indifference, and others dislike. The audience was asked to evaluate the actor's attitude to him in each individual video: He likes you / doesn't like you / doesn't care.
⠀People with high self-esteem took friendliness and neutrality as sympathy, and dislike as neutrality. Those who have self-esteem struck the bottom, even friendly people assessed as conceived evil, porch and envious.
⠀⠀
Output? If it seems to me that my mother - in-law disliked me at first sight, I will close my eyes, close my eyes, be unfriendly, or Vice versa, start fawning and give her a sense of superiority. Relations with the mother-in-law will not work out. And the wife of the second son, she will adore! Expecting that everyone around us hates us, we choose a strategy of defense or attack. When we expect a man to dislike us, we stop liking him.
⠀In the opposite direction, that works too!
⠀
So it turns out that the world with a high self-esteem is filled with friends and allies, and with a low one is full of arrogant scoundrels and villains. Imagine how the world will change if you switch just one option inside!
⠀ I'm launching a self-esteem marathon soon. I want to do some live broadcasts on this topic. Need to? Write in the comments!
⠀ Has this ever happened in your life? How do you assess your self-esteem? Do I need an ether with self-esteem diagnostics?
