Change often frightens and worries people. Our brain is designed in such a way that a person loves calmness, stability, therefore, he is afraid of the unknown that changes can bring. Sometimes fear is overwhelming because the person is lazy and inert. Sometimes a person is simply afraid to admit to himself that he wants these changes. In any case, in order to accept the changes, you need to get out of the "comfort" zone, and this can only be done by a confident, strong and positive person.
How people relate to change is written in many literary works. For example, in Goncharov's novel Oblomov, the protagonist Ilya Ilyich is faced with the need to change his life, because he is in love and wants to be worthy of his beloved. But from childhood he is afraid of any changes, he is not accustomed to a rich life, changes weigh him just as much as continuous movement and activity. Even love for Olga cannot make Ilya Ilyich change his life. The main character is more prone to laziness, apathy, immobility, so his fear is irresistible, and he returns to his usual “life on the couch”. It is not for nothing that the rejection of the new, the inability to change something in one's life due to laziness and inaction is called "Oblomovism"
