When I heard about this syndrome, it immediately reminded me of me when I flew away for several months to work in another country. There I could live only with the thoughts of the life that will begin when I return home. “In 2 months I’ll buy myself this and that. In the meantime, I will wear old clothes, use cosmetics that I do not use at home and wanted to throw it away, ”and so on. I put off my life for later. And how often do we say: “I’ll find a new job, then I’ll live!”, “Meeting a real man, then I’ll be happy”, “I need to lose weight, I’ll start on Monday”, “I’ll save this tablecloth for a special occasion” and stuff like that ... All these statements are characteristic of people with delayed life syndrome. Its essence is that a person lives with dreams of the future. In the present, he simply exists and is waiting for a better life, which should happen after a certain moment. While we wait for the turning point to start living, we devalue what you already have. And because of this, then later dissatisfaction with oneself, life, depression. It is important to remember that our life is not a rehearsal. Do not put off youth for old age. Life is what happens here and now !!!
