Relationships with age gaps still sometimes surprise people, though a lot of people agree that at the end of the day, love is love, and your partner doesn't have to be within the same age range as you. The question is, why do some people even seek out such relationships, and want their partner to be older?

I think the first reason is experience. Especially for a woman, having a partner who is older than her means he can guide her and knows how to please her because he has the experience. Men, too, sometimes want to date a woman who is older than them, a so called cougar, for the same reason: they like an experienced woman who knows what she wants and likes, both in bed and just in general.

Another reason for this, I think, is maturity. For example, for me, emotional and mental maturity is important in a partner, and older men are more likely to have it. Many young women feel like men who are the same age as them are not mentally mature, so they seek older partners.

This is my opinion about why people seek out partners who are significantly older than them. Do you know any other reasons for this?
