Banosh occupies a significant place among the wide range of various traditional Ukrainian dishes.
Banosh is a Ukrainian corn porridge, similar in meaning to hominy. Banosh is considered a festive dish, since previously it was necessary to collect cream for it for a whole week.
You know the most delicious banosh can be tasted only in Western Ukraine, in the Carpathians. A very tasty and satisfying ethnic dish made from corn flour. Ukrainians eat banosh with curdled milk, mushrooms, cracklings, but for the Hutsuls, banosh without cheese is not a banosh.
