In our country, there is such a holiday as Maslenitsa (or pancake day). Many people in our country love this holiday not only because of the pancakes themselves, but also because of the opportunity to spend time with their family. As far as I know, there is no such holiday(or its equivalent) abroad, which makes this phenomenon unique in its own way. Maslenitsa is characterized by festivities, an effigy of Maslenitsa, sledding and, as you might guess, baking pancakes. In our time, as a rule, there are only festivities and pancakes. Moreover, in our country, for example, in addition to pancakes, they also make dumplings, cheesecakes(just not those pies that everyone is used to seeing, but such small pancakes) and kolodka - a Slavic rite dedicated to Shrovetide, in which girls and single guys tied a wooden deck or other object to their leg as a sign of condemnation or punishment for not marrying at the proper time. I really love this holiday for the opportunity to spend time with my family, in a festive atmosphere, although it can not be said that this is a family holiday. In addition, these are our traditions, and all nations need to hold on to traditions. After all, this is our history, our heritage. Besides, who would just take and refuse to eat to the brim of delicious pancakes?
