Easter is the largest religious holiday celebrated in spring. He came to us from ancient times. On this day, according to Christian legend, Jesus Christ was resurrected after being crucified on the cross to atone for all the sins of mankind. This miracle symbolizes deliverance from sins for believers. In popular belief, this is a holiday of renewal of the earth and nature. Preparing for the Easter holiday takes a whole week, each day of which has a special meaning, and which is celebrated with certain rituals. Easter is preceded by a seven-week Great Lent.

Easter is celebrated in different ways in different countries of the world and even in different regions of Ukraine. Before Easter, all families bake delicious Easter cakes and paint eggs in bright colors. I like the smell and taste of Easter cakes, and especially their tops, sprinkled with multi-colored sugar.

Early on Sunday morning, people go to church, and after returning they sit down at the festive table. In the church, the priest sprinkles holy water on people and food. There is a tradition to light a candle and insert it at Easter during the consecration. If you bring a burning candle to the very house, then there will be happiness and wealth for a whole year. On this day, there is a tradition for the whole family to gather at one large table to celebrate this holiday. A joyful festive atmosphere reigns all around. Easter is one of my favorite holidays!
